OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of the course is to introduce the quantitative analysis techniques mainly the statistical analysis tools in business problems. Excel and SPSS programs will be used for analysing and interpreting the data related with business and management issues.

CONTENT AND PROGRAM

· Data classification, summarization and presentation:

· Probability Concept and Probability Distributions:

· Sampling Methods and Sampling Distributions

· Statistical Inference: Estimation.

· Statistical Inference: Hypothesis Testing

· Correlation Analysis and Simple and Multiple Regression

· Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)

· Chi-Square Tests of Independence

Books on Statistics for Business and Management and Research Methodology for Business can be used as supplementary materials to understand the concepts and learn why and how to perform the data analysis
